Fireworks was born from curiosity and courage. Purple has never been a colour I instinctively reach for, yet plum kept calling—quietly, persistently. I began by painting over an abandoned canvas, giving it a new life, and allowed deep plum to unfold alongside indigo, sparks of firecracker red, and a whisper of grey.
Fireworks are not something I usually attempt. I have often been drawn away from the neon intensity typical of celebratory acrylics. Here, they emerged softer and more contemplative—like a night sky stirred into motion, as if colours were gently mixed in mid-air, glowing rather than shouting.
As I write this blog in the third week of January 2026, I find myself pausing to gather my thoughts. There is a quiet readiness within me—a readiness to announce that I am putting more intention into how I share my work, through different mediums and platforms I once shied away from. After four years of Gml Gallery, my heart is full of gratitude. Gratitude for the journey, the support, and the many hands and hearts that have carried my art into their lives.
This year marks a re-emergence—of engagement, energy, and courage. It feels like the right time to take things another notch higher, to be braver, and to create more fireworks. To share the magic of colours and textures that brighten not only spaces, but inner worlds.
Whether my art lives on the cover of a journal, a greeting card, a print on a wall, a lampshade glowing softly at home, or an original piece resting in a favourite corner—I wish you the joy I feel each time I add a new layer.
Happy 2026. ✨
